Indian benchmark indices ended higher on Thursday, September 10, with the Nifty 50 snapping a three-session losing streak. However, the session was marked by sharp volatility during the Closing Auction Session (CAS) amid Sensex F&O expiry.
The BSE Sensex moved from 74,629 at 3:15 pm to a high of 75,708 at the indicative close, surging more than 1,000 points before reversing nearly 700 points within five minutes. Meanwhile, the Nifty 50 jumped from 23,389 at 3:15 pm to 23,761 by 3:21 pm.
At the close, the Nifty 50 gained 0.20% to 23,477.80, while the BSE Sensex advanced 0.19% to 74,902.59.
