AC, TV & Appliances Set for Price Hikes From October

Consumer electronics and appliance prices in India are set to rise ahead of the festive season, with manufacturers planning another round of price increases from October 1. Industry executives cited by PTI said air-conditioner prices could increase by around 5–8%, while some companies are also raising prices of washing machines, refrigerators and LED TVs by around 3–4%. The latest revision is being attributed to higher input costs, particularly copper, aluminium and steel, along with costlier crude derivatives, freight expenses and currency volatility. This is expected to be the industry’s third price hike in 2026.

BLUESTARCO
has already indicated a 5–8% increase in prices of air-conditioners and deep freezers. Companies including Blue Star, Godrej Appliances, Haier, Daikin and Super Plastronics have announced or confirmed price increases across various categories, while Panasonic was still evaluating the situation. For the consumer durables sector, the timing is important as the October–Diwali period is one of the key shopping seasons. However, dealers holding inventory purchased at older prices could delay the full impact of the increases reaching consumers. The development is relevant for companies operating across consumer durables and electrical appliances, including Voltas , Blue Star, Havells and Whirlpool. Investors may track how individual companies manage input-cost pressures, pricing, margins and festive-season demand.
