RVNL Secures ₹359 Crore Rail Project to Strengthen Bihar’s Railway Infrastructure

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) has strengthened its infrastructure order book after emerging as the lowest bidder (L1) for a ₹358.97 crore Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract from East Central Railway for rail doubling works in Bihar. The project involves the construction of a second railway line on the 41.04 km Kundawa Chainpur (excluding) to Raxaul (excluding) section as part of the Sitamarhi–Raxaul rail line doubling in the Samastipur Division. The scope of work includes earthwork, blanketing, construction of major and minor bridges, station buildings, platform development, level crossing works and other related infrastructure designed for 25-tonne Indian Railway Standard Loading. The contract value of ₹358.97 crore includes 18% GST and is scheduled to be completed within 1,095 days (around three years). The company also confirmed that the project has been awarded by a domestic entity, with no promoter or related-party interest involved. In a separate development, RVNL recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Bihar to identify, develop and execute infrastructure projects across the state, further strengthening its role in India's expanding transportation and infrastructure network. $RVNL Disclaimer: This post is for informational purposes only and not a recommendation to buy or sell any securities.
