Royal Enfield growth slows to 11% in August from 34%
Eicher Motors Limited
EICHERMOT
saw Royal Enfield sales grow 11% in August 2026 to 126,479 units, down from 34% growth in July. The stock fell 3.22% on October 1 in a weak auto session.
1. What happened
July sales were 118,232, up 34%. August beat the 125,000 estimate. Models up to 350cc rose 15% to 113,143. Models above 350cc fell 13% to 13,336. VE Commercial Vehicles sold 8,434, up 17.7%.
2. Why it matters
Big bikes were 10.5% of August volume. They sell at higher prices, so they matter more to margin than their share suggests.
3. My view
The slowdown is mostly base. August 2025 sales were 114,002, up 55%, against 88,045 in July 2025. August 2026 was up 7% on July 2026, so I do not read 11% as lost demand. The weaker number is the 13% fall in big bikes. If mix keeps shifting to smaller bikes, revenue per unit slips even as volumes grow. I could not verify September volumes.
4. What I am watching
September and October dispatches. The above-350cc line turning positive. Q2 FY27 results for realisation per bike.
5. Stance
Neutral. A second month of falling big-bike sales would make me cautious.
