India’s Engineering Exports Surge 21% in June 2026 to ₹1.10 Lakh Crore Amid Global Trade Headwinds

Driven by robust demand from major international markets, including the United States, China, Germany, and Oman, India’s engineering exports surged 21% year-on-year to reach ₹1.10 lakh crore ($11.48 billion) in June 2026. According to EEPC India, this strong performance pushed total exports for the first quarter of FY27 (April–June) to ₹3.28 lakh crore ($34.14 billion)—an 18.09% increase compared to the previous year. The sector demonstrated remarkable resilience by keeping monthly exports above the $10 billion mark for three consecutive months, even while facing elevated transit, insurance, and freight costs caused by ongoing shipping disruptions in the Red Sea and the Strait of Hormuz. Engineering products continued to be a crucial pillar of India's international trade, accounting for 28.4% of all merchandise exports in June as 27 out of 34 product categories recorded growth. The United States retained its position as the largest market with $1.95 billion in shipments, while exports to China registered the fastest expansion, spiking 74% to ₹3,467.55 crore ($361.47 million). Meanwhile, shipments to Oman saw a massive surge, more than quadrupling to nearly ₹2,484.85 crore ($259 million). Emphasizing the sector's vital role in global manufacturing, EEPC India Chairman Pankaj Chadha noted that sustained government support will be key to maintaining this momentum against global trade headwinds. $LT $KEC $KALPATARU
