Highway Infrastructure wins ₹245 crore toll contracts

Highway Infrastructure Limited has secured two toll-operation mandates with a combined value of about ₹245.12 crore. The larger contract is worth ₹220.66 crore for toll collection and plaza operations on the Gorakhpur Link Expressway in Uttar Pradesh, while the company has also received a ₹24.46 crore NHAI mandate in Tamil Nadu. Key details • ₹220.66 crore contract from UPEIDA for collection of user fees and operation of toll plazas on the Gorakhpur Link Expressway. • ₹24.46 crore Letter of Acceptance from NHAI for operations at the Velanchettiyur Fee Plaza on the Karur-Dindigul section of NH-7. • The Tamil Nadu contract also includes maintenance of nearby toilet facilities. My view The important point is that Highway Infrastructure is adding operating contracts rather than only one-time construction work. Toll-management mandates can provide recurring execution visibility over the contract period. At the same time, headline order value should not be confused with profit. Collection efficiency, operating costs and contract terms will determine the actual contribution to earnings. What I’m watching next I will watch the execution start dates, revenue contribution from these contracts and whether the company continues to win larger toll-operation mandates. Stance: Positive on the expansion of the toll-operations pipeline, but margins and execution quality remain the key factors. Disclosure: I do not have any holding or position in the stock mentioned above.
