The project was awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process under the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme.
Total Capacity: 265 MW / 530 MWh
Project 1: 250 MW / 500 MWh
Project 2: 15 MW / 30 MWh
Discovered Tariff: ₹2.35 lakh per MW per month
Beneficiary: Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd
Contract Period: 12 years
The project will provide two-hour battery storage capacity. NIRL will make the storage capacity available on an on-demand basis to meet peak and off-peak power requirements.
Expands Into Battery Storage
The Haryana project marks another step in NLC India's expansion beyond conventional power generation into the energy-storage segment.
With a 12-year contract period, the project adds long-term battery storage capacity to NLC India's portfolio while supporting the integration and management of power requirements during different demand periods.
The 265 MW/530 MWh project also highlights the increasing role of standalone battery storage in India's evolving power infrastructure.
