Transrail Lighting wins ₹574 crore orders
Transrail Lighting Limited (NSE: TRANSRAILL) has secured new orders worth more than ₹574 crore, mainly in the domestic transmission and distribution business. The latest wins take its FY27 order intake to ₹1,609 crore.
The orders include transmission-line EPC, reconductoring projects and supply of HTLS conductors and poles. A major part of the order value comes from reconductoring using carbon-core HTLS conductors manufactured at the company’s Silvassa facility.
The key point is the link between order inflow and capacity expansion. Transrail has increased its conductor manufacturing capacity by 70% to 40,800 KMPA, while its tower manufacturing capacity has also been expanded. This gives the company additional execution capacity as the order book grows.
My view is that the ₹1,609 crore order intake is more relevant than the headline ₹574 crore win because it shows the cumulative pace of business secured during the year. I would watch execution of these orders, margin performance and the additional ₹694 crore L1 position before assessing whether the order momentum converts into sustained earnings growth.
Disclosure: I do not hold any position in Transrail Lighting Limited.
