Why Confirmation Is Important Before Taking a Breakout Trade
A price breakout can look attractive because it creates a sudden movement beyond an important support or resistance area. However, simply crossing a level does not automatically confirm that the market will continue in the same direction. Price can sometimes move beyond a level briefly and then return to the previous range. This is why traders often observe the behavior after the breakout. A stronger breakout may show a convincing candle close beyond the level, continued participation, and follow-through in the same direction. A successful retest can provide additional information about whether the broken level is being accepted in its new role. On the other hand, if price quickly returns inside the previous range, rejects the breakout zone, and fails to show continuation, the initial breakout may have lacked sufficient conviction. Learning: Do not judge a breakout only by the first move. Observe whether price can sustain the new territory and demonstrate follow-through. $SBIN
