Ola Electric fell nearly 10% today. and closed at 6% whty??

And the reason is actually very interesting. 👀 Ola has announced a ₹1,000 crore rights issue — but the issue price is just ₹27 per share. Yesterday, the stock closed around ₹36.32

So naturally, investors started asking: Why is the company raising money at such a big discount? And more importantly, what does this mean for existing shareholders? A rights issue means the company creates and sells new shares to existing shareholders to raise fresh capital. The positive side? Ola gets ₹1,000 crore of additional funds to support its business and expansion. But there is also a concern. More shares can mean dilution for existing shareholders if they don't participate. And the discounted price can also put pressure on the market price. That's why the stock reacted so sharply today. 📉 The issue will open on October 22 and close on October 30, with eligible shareholders entitled to 2 rights shares for every 25 shares held. So I wouldn't look at today's fall and simply say: “Ola is falling because the business is weak.” The bigger story is capital. The market now wants to know: Will this ₹1,000 crore actually help Ola improve growth, market share and profitability? Because raising money is easy to announce. Using it efficiently is what can ultimately decide the stock's next move.
