Federal Bank Q2 Results: Profit Jumps 45%, Bullish Breakout?
Federal Bank (FEDERALBNK) has delivered a strong Q2 FY27 performance, with record quarterly profit and improving asset quality. The latest results have strengthened the fundamental story, while the daily chart signals a possible bullish momentum revival.
What’s in the Results?
Net profit surged 45.1% YoY to ₹1,386 crore, compared with ₹955 crore a year ago. Net Interest Income (NII) grew 26.4% to ₹3,153 crore, while Net Interest Margin (NIM) improved to 3.32% from 3.06%. Gross NPA declined to 1.32%, and Net NPA improved to 0.17%, indicating stronger asset quality.
Technical View
Federal Bank closed at ₹348.85, gaining 3.21% in the session. The stock moved above its 10, 20, 50 and 100-day moving averages, indicating improving short-term momentum. RSI at 64.43 reflects strengthening bullish momentum without yet entering the conventional overbought zone. MACD has turned positive, supporting the recovery.
The immediate resistance zone is around ₹355–₹360, where price action will be crucial. A sustained breakout above this zone could strengthen the bullish structure. On the downside, ₹335–₹332 is an important support area to monitor.
My View
Strong earnings growth, better asset quality and improving technical indicators make Federal Bank an interesting stock to watch. However, a decisive close above resistance would provide stronger confirmation of the next upward move. Failure to sustain above key moving averages could lead to consolidation.
