SRF Ltd – Post Q1 FY27 Outlook

$SRF reported a healthy Q1 FY27 performance with steady revenue growth and improvement in profitability across key business segments. However, the stock corrected after the results as strong expectations were already priced in, triggering profit booking. The decline appears to be sentiment-driven rather than a deterioration in the company's fundamentals. A major long-term positive is the Union Cabinet's approval of the BHAVYA – Rasayan Scheme (Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana Rasayan) with a ₹3,030 crore outlay to develop three dedicated chemical parks. The initiative is expected to strengthen India's chemical manufacturing ecosystem, improve infrastructure, attract fresh investments, reduce logistics costs and boost exports. As a leading player in specialty chemicals and fluorochemicals, SRF is well positioned to benefit from this policy support, rising domestic demand and the ongoing China+1 manufacturing shift. Technical View: The stock has slipped below its 20, 50 and 200-day moving averages, indicating short-term weakness. It is also trading below the middle Bollinger Band, while the RSI has fallen to around 43, suggesting weak momentum but nearing an oversold zone. Key Levels: Immediate support is placed at ₹2,620-2,600. Holding this zone could lead to a technical rebound. On the upside, ₹2,750 is the first resistance, followed by ₹2,900-2,950, where multiple moving averages are placed. A sustained close above these levels would improve the medium-term outlook. Outlook: The post-result correction looks more like a valuation reset than a fundamental concern. Strong execution, leadership in specialty chemicals, government support through the BHAVYA-Rasayan Scheme and long-term industry tailwinds keep the broader outlook positive. Investors may consider accumulating on declines, while traders should wait for a breakout above ₹2,750 for fresh bullish confirmation.
