Hindustan Copper Ltd (Hind Copper) – Losing Momentum After Strong Rally; Short-Term Weakness Likely
$HINDCOPPER , India’s only integrated copper producer, has shown consistent performance driven by higher copper prices, improved mining output, and capacity expansion across its major projects. The company’s balance sheet has strengthened due to debt reduction and better cost management. However, global copper price volatility, higher energy costs, and slowing demand from key consuming countries like China are beginning to impact short-term sentiment. From a technical perspective, the stock appears to be losing steam after an extended rally. It is now trading below its 20-day moving average and hovering close to the 50-day moving average, indicating a loss of near-term strength. The 100-day moving average lies near ₹300, which could act as a secondary support in case of further decline. The RSI has dropped to around 48–50, reflecting weakening buying interest, while the MACD has turned bearish, suggesting the onset of selling pressure. The ADX also shows declining trend strength, confirming fading bullish momentum. Moreover, prices are hovering near the middle Bollinger Band, indicating possible consolidation or mild correction. In terms of price levels, immediate resistance is placed around ₹365, where the stock has repeatedly faced selling pressure, while strong support lies near ₹315. A sustained breakdown below ₹315 could trigger further downside toward ₹300–₹290 levels. Conversely, only a decisive close above ₹365 with strong volume would revive positive sentiment and open the way toward ₹385–₹400 levels. Overall, while Hindustan Copper’s fundamentals remain sound, the short-term technical outlook looks weak. Declining momentum indicators, resistance near ₹365, and pressure around key moving averages suggest the stock may witness a correction or sideways phase. Traders should stay cautious, as the near-term bias remains bearish, with potential downside toward the ₹315–₹300 zone before any recovery attempt.
