ADANI POWER SIGNS 25-YEAR POWER SUPPLY AGREEMENT WITH MSEDCL

$ADANIPOWER has signed a 25-year Power Supply Agreement with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) for the long-term supply of 1,600 MW of electricity from a new ultra-supercritical thermal power plant. The agreement follows the Letter of Award issued by MSEDCL on March 15 after Adani Power emerged as the successful bidder in a competitive tender for long-term supply of 1,600 MW. Under the bid, the company had quoted a first-year tariff of Rs 5.30 per kWh, with power supply scheduled to commence from FY31. The power will be supplied from a 2x800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant to be developed under the Design, Build, Finance, Own and Operate (DBFOO) model.
