YES Bank loans rise 24% as deposits grow 20%

Research Analyst: UJVIN NEVATIA (PROPRIETOR: NEVAT INVESTMENTS) | SEBI Registration No.: INH100009628 YES Bank Limited (

YESBANK
) reported 23.8% year-on-year growth in loans and advances to ₹3,09,675 crore as of September 30, 2026. Total deposits increased 19.5% to ₹3,54,084 crore. What happened? Loans and advances increased 8.6% sequentially from ₹2,85,539 crore in June 2026. Deposits rose 12.3% quarter-on-quarter from ₹3,15,754 crore. CASA deposits stood at ₹1,06,255 crore. The CASA ratio declined to 30% from 32.7% in the previous quarter and 33.7% a year earlier. Why does it matter? Strong loan growth indicates continued expansion in the bank's lending business. Deposit growth of 19.5% also provides funding to support this expansion. However, the decline in the CASA ratio means a smaller proportion of deposits is coming from current and savings accounts. This can affect the bank's cost of funds and margins. My view The growth numbers are encouraging, but they need to be assessed alongside funding quality and profitability. A rapidly growing loan book is valuable only if the bank maintains disciplined underwriting, healthy asset quality and adequate margins. The lower CASA ratio is therefore an important metric to monitor as the loan book expands. What I am watching next I would track net interest margin, cost of deposits, CASA ratio and asset quality in the full Q2 results. Loan growth will also need to remain balanced with deposit mobilisation to support sustainable expansion.
