) plans to acquire a 26% stake in a CleanMax subsidiary for a 46.4 MW wind-solar hybrid project in Rajasthan. What happened? The project will combine 20 MW of wind capacity, 26.4 MW of solar capacity and a 2 MWh battery storage system. It is expected to generate around 100 million units of electricity annually. Nuvoco's investment is capped at ₹26 crore. CleanMax will develop, operate and maintain the project under a 25-year arrangement. Why does it matter? Power and fuel are major operating costs for cement manufacturers. Captive renewable energy can reduce dependence on conventional electricity and exposure to fuel-price volatility. The project is also expected to help Nuvoco avoid approximately 1.25 lakh tonnes of annual CO₂ emissions. My view The investment is primarily an operating-cost management initiative rather than a new revenue opportunity.
