Trent revenue grows 23% as Zudio expansion continues
Trent Limited reported standalone revenue of ₹5,788 crore for Q2 FY27, up 23% YoY. The company added 10 Westside and 17 Zudio stores during the quarter, taking its retail expansion further across formats. The interesting part of Trent's update is that growth is increasingly being driven by Zudio, where store expansion is materially faster than Westside. That creates a strong revenue runway, but it also makes store productivity an increasingly important metric. Adding 27 stores in one quarter is useful only if new stores mature quickly enough to generate attractive returns. This is where I would look beyond the headline 23% revenue growth. Trent has already built a large premium into its growth expectations. At this stage, another quarter of double-digit revenue growth is unlikely to be enough on its own. Investors need evidence that new-store economics are holding up while the footprint expands. My view: The business momentum remains strong, but the investment case is becoming more dependent on execution. I would rather see slightly slower store additions with strong productivity than very aggressive expansion accompanied by falling sales per store.
