Morning Market Insights | 22 July 2026

Indian markets are expected to open on a cautious note as investors react to rising global uncertainties. Brent crude has moved above $90 per barrel, raising concerns over inflation, higher input costs, and pressure on oil-importing sectors. Sustained strength in crude could keep overall market sentiment cautious. The pharma sector will remain in focus after US President Donald Trump announced a new tariff structure on generic drugs imported into the US. The announcement could create near-term uncertainty for Indian pharmaceutical exporters with significant exposure to the US market, leading to stock-specific volatility. Overall, the market is expected to trade with a cautious bias. For Nifty, immediate support is placed at 23,900-23,950, while 24,300-24,350 remains the key resistance zone. A decisive breakout on either side could determine the next directional move. Bank Nifty is also expected to consolidate after yesterday's sharp sell-off. Immediate support lies at 57,200-57,300, with the next support near 56,800 if weakness continues. On the upside, 58,000-58,200 remains the key resistance zone. Today's Key Q1 FY27 Results (Mainboard): • Adani Green Energy • $ADANIPOWER$BPCL • HPCL • Dr. Reddy's Laboratories • Nestlé India • IndusInd Bank • JSW Energy • Tata Communications • Oracle Financial Services Software • NTPC Green Energy • United Spirits • UCO Bank • Nippon Life India Asset Management (NAM India) • $SRF • Tanla Platforms • Shoppers Stop Investors should remain selective, avoid aggressive leveraged positions, and closely monitor global cues, crude oil movement, Q1 earnings, and sector-specific developments for market direction.
